Update...

I feel like usually my posts on my life updates are of all exciting things! Things I've been doing that I've been too busy to post about. Unfortunately, this is not one of those posts. This is just an update. Friday night I received some worried texts in regards to my co-worker and friend - Brenda, and then ultimately the phone call you never want to get.

Brenda was more than just my co-worker she was also a really great friend. From day one of meeting her she took me under her wing and earned herself the nickname "Mama Bear". Every day we would start work at the same time. We would wait for each other in the parking lot, and she would greet me with a cigarette in hand saying "Good morning sunshine!" and we would both be like "ugh, didn't we JUST leave here? Why are we here again so soon!" She would hand me an iced vanilla coffee from McDonalds and we'd drag ourselves into work. Eventually, I was moved to a different branch this past April but that didn't stop us from chatting every single day. I would say "Good morning!" and send her an emoji of a cartoon waving and she would respond with a minion.
We'd spend a  lot of time talking about our love for our dogs and work and things we needed to do together but inevitably never got around to, which I regret like nothing I've regretted before. She could be counted on and was my number 1 go to. If I needed help at work she wouldn't do the task in question, she would show me multiple ways to do it in such a friendly manner.
We shared lunch many times, she was always before me but would go and pick up whatever we decided on. I told her she NEEDED to go to Papa Murphy's because they have an amazing veggie pizza! You could probably imagine the looks on our faces when she walked in and they handed her a raw pizza. She was like "Don't you guys cook the pizza?" We will never live that one down, everyone at work gave us a hard time about it because apparently Papa Murphy's only gives you raw pizza and our branch didn't have an oven so she didn't take it hahhaha!! She had to hurry across town and get Pizza Hut instead.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share that tidbit. She was a great friend. Her death was unexpected and I'm still dealing with shock and denial. We will miss you deeply Ms. Red. <3
