Banned Books, Work and such
I am a huge lover of books; I don't think there is anything better than losing yourself in a great story! It got me thinking about banned books though and why they are banned. Ok, so To Kill A Mockingbird used the "N" word quite a bit, but back in those days that's the language people spoke. That still isn't enough to convince me it should be banned, I look at it as something people can learn from.
But then I look at books like Harry Potter (which I am not a fan of, sorry!), and this just blows my mind... it's banned because it promotes witchcraft, sets bad examples and they're too dark. Some people believe the Bible is perfectly clear that demons and wizards are real and powerful and that God's people should have nothing to do with them so this book might confused people in thinking that real witches aren't dangerous and they might take the Bible too lightly. Real witches? Riiiiiight. I'll go on a rant if I continue, but isn't that the idea of books? To not always be "real"? To take you to a different world that you can get lost in as a reader? I don't know, I just find it a bit ridiculous.
How cool is this cloud formation from the other evening!

The other day we stopped at a farm to pick up some lumber and it kind of reminded me of a zombie apocalypse (maybe that's why I dreamed zombies last night? hmm..)
I was almost afraid to put my face up to the crack and look out. Typical zombie move... poppin' up when you're sneakin' a peek.
(See!)
But I did brave it and I saw a cow.
Came face to face with a bull.
This was my inspiration for my OOTD yesterday...
But I added my own style to it and got this. Yesterday was a good day at work I think. I had a $600 goal to reach with 1 CC (credit card) sign up. I ended up getting just under $900 and I did get 1 CC! Hooray!
Can I please talk Miley Cyrus for one minute! I seriously kind of love this song and I think the lyrics are great however I am a little confused.
Miley said, "Let's get something straight. You guys don't understand my music video. So let me explain it to you. I kiss the sledge hammer to show that I secretly love the pain. I'm naked to show how Liam destroyed me, I emotionally become 'naked and stripped' meaning I'm hurt on the inside. The wrecking ball symbolizes a destructive love, hence the song title. The wrecking ball breaks the walls and I'm left laying in the remaining of it. So instead of calling me a 'slut' or 'whore' realized I'm trying to tell a story of a love that went wrong and destroyed me emotionally."
I get it! I totally do, you wanna lick a sledge hammer - go for it! But I don't see how grinding on a wrecking ball is going to prove your point. Maybe that's just me? Either way I love the song.
I guess that is all for today! What are your thoughts and opinions on Mileys video!?
Xoxo,
T-Bomb
