Resilience
As many of you know, a month ago I did the update Apple requested on my iPod Touch and I no longer had access to my iPod anymore and no one at Apple could help me. I sat myself down Friday night and said to myself, 'this is unacceptable I'm going to fix this myself.' There was no way my $300 iPod wasn't going to work any more so I spent a good 30 minutes trying to figure it out and to my surprise... I got it working!
Jerry and I were holding our breath as it's spun loading and we we're patiently waiting to see if it told us invalid Apple ID or not. I mean, our whole relationship since February of 2013 is on my iPod, every single picture, funny video, success, achievement... all of it. So for both of us to get this working was a pretty big ordeal! As Jerry wrapped me up in a big bear hug he described me as being very resilient and it's like a light bulb went off that word describes me perfectly.
Like everyone else, I've gone through struggles that I thought might break me but didn't, I learned, I adapted and I make the most out of my situations. When I come across a challenge or any person in my life I think to myself 'what is this lesson teaching me' or 'what am I suppose to be learning from this person in my life?' So I thought I'd share with you my top 5 quotes that have helped me through any struggles and I live my life by...
1) "When you focus on your problems, you'll have more problems. When you focus on possibilities, you'll have more opportunities."
2) "Tough situations build strong people."
3) "Life is too short to start your day with broken pieces of yesterday, it will definitely destroy your wonderful today and ruin your great tomorrow."
4) "Sometimes when you're in a dark place, you think you've been buried, but you've actually been planted."
5) "A strong person is not the one who doesn't cry. A strong person is the one who cries, sheds tears for a moment, then gets up and fights again."
Just always remember you have the power to either make or break yourself. It's not the situation the forms us but our reaction to it. You can either step forward into growth or you can step back into safety. I guess as an added bonus quote remember this: "There are 3 C's in life. Choices, Chances, Changes. You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change."
Just some words of wisdom! Have a good day!
