Pregnancy Announcement
I think the title speaks for itself but here we go...
It's time to spill the beans... some of you know and some of you guessed it... We're expecting a little pumpkin of our own April 2019
That was the announcement I had made on social media on October 5th 2018 after having kept the secret Since August 7th 2018. Only family and our closest friends were shared the news before everyone else.
I'm aware that the pictures I have to share are pictures of pictures and therefore not the best quality and certainly not edited. This is our baby in it's raw ultrasound pictures. This one was the first look at our little bean at 8 weeks. Taken on 8/30/18.
This photo was taken on 9/24/18. It no longer looks like a blob! Or at least it doesn't to me because the tech pointed it out. But the left side is it's head and you can see it's tiny hand just above its face like it's waiving hello.
This one was just taken on 10/3/18 when I was one day away from hitting my 13 week mark. You can clearly see four fingers and a thumb! How cool is that?!
This was also take 10/3/18. You can see it's perfectly forming spine. If you can't tell the babies head is now on the right side and it's facing down.
Now... in this one... this is where the ultrasound tech asked if I wanted to know her guess as to what gender the baby is. She says she has an 85% accuracy rate this early on. So she pointed things out to me and explained why she thought it was a... ha, I'm not telling you! We have to wait until around Thanksgiving time before we find out with 99.9% accuracy what the gender is and then we will do some sort of gender reveal. So I put the heart over her guess - but feel free to take a guess yourself!
You'll have to excuse me, my pictures are taken on Thursdays for my weekly updates, so it's first thing in the morning while getting dressed for work. This is the first picture that I look actually somewhat pregnant in. All the others look like I just overdid it on the tacos. But this one.... this one will make people stop and question.
If I'm being completely honest, I am one of the few that have had a smooth sailing pregnancy. I mostly was just tired during my first trimester, which is normal. All my energy and nutrients are going to the baby. I was extremely hungry and had to eat every hour on the hour. And I had the biggest food aversions ever. I could not and still cannot do beef without wanting to vomit lol. Only every now and then did I ever feel somewhat queasy. I know a few others that are struggling with their first trimester and my heart goes out to them. I'm extremely blessed and happy that everything has gone so well for the both of us. I wish I had recommendations for the first trimester, but really, I can't because I haven't done anything out of the ordinary. I ate a lot of crackers during weeks 5-9. Obviously I started taking prenatals with DHA and Folic Acid. I also got some stretch mark cream as well. It can't hurt to start early and also I hear as your belly stretches it starts to itch. I've got sensitive skin to begin with, and winter usually leaves me itchy anyway so... anything that can help relieve that feeling - I'm game.
I'm really looking forward to the 2nd trimester which I will begin on October 11th 2018. Only because I'm not feeling so tired all the time anymore, and I don't have to to eat every hour, and I'm actually eating more than just crackers. I'm looking forward to getting my energy back, to find out the gender of the baby, and to get things going with the nursery.
So excited that I am able to share the news and now be able to keep everyone up to date!
Taryn
