2016
2016
I have done a lot. I have seen a lot.
I have been to Branson MO with family I don't get to see often enough and I experienced things like never before. I swam long distances chasing waterfalls, I saw a huge sea turtle and pet baby dingos. I walked through a vortex, I went 100 feet up in the air to zip line - of course after a lot of coaxing.
I went to Cincinnati OH and met two really great people there who opened their doors to me and my family. I went to Columbus OH for The Country Living Fair - something I have always wanted to do but never got around to until this year.
I got to SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board) for the first time in my life and I got to do it with Zoey. I camped on Lake Superior with my brother and our dogs and I got to swim in the lake and watch the sunset. I found beach glass in Ontonogan with my mom. I bought myself a really nice kayak that I got to use Up North for the first time.
I camped with Jerry and Zoey for National Camping with Dogs Day in the Mississippi Palisades - a place I had never been to before.
I turned 27 and got to have a birthday party. My first birthday party since I turned 21 and I got to spend it with my sister, my niece and two really great friends I have made here in the boonies since I have moved from The Burbs.
I got my fishing license and learned how to catfish (not to mention catching the largest catfish in the group).
I went from a part time employee to a full time employee this month. I have become closer to my work family and discovered just how deep some of their loyalties go.
This past year has gone by so fast! I guess it is true that time does fly when you're having fun. I'm ready for 2017 and I'm going into it like this... I'm not sure what I'll do, but - well, I want to go places and see people. I want my mind to grow. I want to live where things happen on a big scale. Nothing is set in stone but I'm ready for new adventures this year. Fear is no longer going to hold me back. 2017 is going to be about me. Really taking care of myself and doing what I want to do.
I'm naturally a giving person and that's a character trait that will continue on, but I have things that I have wanted to do for the longest time. I'm not going to try to force people to hold me accountable, I'm taking responsibility of myself and if I want to go do something then I am going to do it. If that means doing it alone even though I'm scared - so be it! Life begins outside your comfort zone and that will be my theme for 2017 - stepping outside the box and outside my comfort zone. I'm going to live the heck out of 2017!
You've had an awesome 2016 - can't wait to see what 2017 has in store for you. ENJOY the heck out of it!! ❤
